Today’s reading is Ballad of the Breadman by Charles Causley, a Cornish poet and writer. His work appears to be simple, direct and accessible to the reader. Causley’s poems frequently show the influence of Christianity and many are set in his native Cornwall. This poem tells the story of the birth, life and death of Jesus, but placed in a modern setting.
